The ranking algorithm works on a scoring basis — each clinic earns points according to specific criteria. The information is always up-to-date because the system collects data on medical centers daily, calculates the scores once a week, and updates the rankings.
The rankings are adapted to user preferences, including geographic preferences. This means that UK users see the most relevant sequence of clinics in the directories based on their specific needs.
Additionally, clinics have the option to be placed at the top of a particular directory for a fee. In such cases, the clinic is marked as “Promoted.” This practice complies with the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) guidelines on promotional transparency.
Criteria Influencing a Clinic’s Position in the Ranking
1. The number of Bookimed patients who went to the clinic for a specific medical referral, disease, or procedure
This criterion reflects the demand for the clinic among Bookimed patients with a specific request and its willingness to accept them.
2. Average score from Bookimed patient reviews
This criterion helps determine the level of medical services and care provided by the clinic, based on patient feedback.
3. Availability of current treatment programs and prices
This allows users to compare conditions and costs across different medical centers and plan their budgets accordingly.
4. Speed of the clinic’s response to requests
Since timely treatment is crucial in many cases, the algorithm considers how quickly the medical center responds to Bookimed patients.
5. Profile fullness
It is essential for medical centers to provide comprehensive information about themselves, including main directions, available medical and non-medical services, achievements, statistics, awards, accreditations, and certificates. This enables users to compare clinics and choose the one that best suits their needs.
